Liver Disease Awareness Week 2013




The Hepatopancreatobiliary Association Singapore (HPBA) will be organising the first Liver Disease Awareness Week which will commence with a Liver Symposium to be held on 28th July 2013!

This will be a great event featuring doctors from different hospitals across Singapore speaking on the latest in Liver Disease and Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)! Keep this date free and stay tuned for more information!

Singapore Liver Cancer Support Group
 

Liver cancer is the fourth commonest cancer worldwide. In Singapore, it is the fourth commonest cancer among men and the third most fatal cancer amongst Singapore mean. According to the Singapore Cancer Registry, 1561 men succumbed to this disease between 2005 and 2009.

The Singapore Liver Cancer Support Group is open to all Singaporeans, PRs or any patients seeking treatment in Singapore and not limited to our hospitals/instituitions. We welcome all volunteers and patients to come forward to help or if they are in need of our help. Membership is free.

This patient support group will be lead by specialist and healthcare professionals which include Liver Cancer Surgeons, Liver Specialist and Cancer Specialists, Nurses and Allied health professions eg. medical social workers etc.

World Hepatitis Day 2012


On 28 July 2012, there will be public talks on the prevention and importance of testing for Hepatitis B organized by the Hepatitis B Support Group of Singapore.

The talks, which comes in both English and Chinese, will be given by Dr Lee Guan-Huei and Dr Tan Poh Seng from the National University Hospital.
